Mrs Sarah Newton

Sarah is a creative, enthusiastic, and dedicated Primary School Teacher, with 6 years experience of teaching the full Primary Curriculum and supporting a wide range of high special educational needs at both private and state SEN schools. (Teaching children with Autism; ADHD; PDA; VI and various other communication and interaction; cognition and learning; social; emotional; sensory and physical needs).

 

After gaining her BA Honours degree in Music, she gained her PCGE with Merit in Primary Education with QTS. She has received specialist Phonics training, and has since gained valuable experience teaching Phonics, following various schemes including Letters and Sounds and Read Write Inc, feeling comfortable about following either and offering a fun and memorable experience for children across both schemes. She is passionate about reading, and feels it should be fun and accessed by all, which shines through when teaching. Her experience and expertise within Music inspires a creative approach, no matter the subject, even when teaching French!

 

Most recently she has been working as a Cover Supervisor/Teacher at a Secondary school, gaining experience and knowledge of KS3 and 4, to allow some support in English at this level also. She is currently teaching English Intervention lessons, Sociology and Personal Development at this level. Sarah also holds a TEFL qualification, to support those who are learning English as aa Foreign Language.
